Following the launch of the Hong Kong Ecological Baseline Survey Programme in 2002, we have commenced the design and establishment of an internet patform to publish our survey findings. The internet platform, on the one hand, promotes a better understanding of the richness of ecological resources in Hong Kong by allowing local residents, as well as people from all over the world, to access our information on species distributions in Hong Kong, and on the other hand it enables our frontline ecological surveyors to share what they see and experience in nature with the general public. Through the printed texts and photos of the Eco-log, city-dwellers can experience the beauty and the dynamic rhythms of nature.
This is our first attempt to draw a Live Eco-Map. We aim to publish all the findings of our ecological surveys phase by phase on the map, and eventually the map will cover a broad spectrum of data. Feel free to contact us if you have any comments about the website.
